Get your Shine on!

Get your Shine on!

This is what I know through my many experiences of meeting you!

I know that you are beautiful, special and passionate. You are creative in your own special way.  You are in a growth cycle of life that is shifting from where you’ve been, back to who you truly are.  You are gifted and you look at life through a more spiritual lens.  You are intuitive, re-awakening and paying attention to the bigger picture.  Life is calling you to step forward in ways that may feel strange and not “the norm”.

Sometimes you feel confused, alone, afraid and unsure that your path in life is leading you in the right direction – it sometimes feels more than a bit unclear.  You may feel or sense that there is something bigger that you are being called to tap into.  Something different than what you think you “should” be doing.  You can no longer deny the knock, knock, knocking of an inner voice wanting you to open the door to a truer you.

Imagine if there were no rules, constraints, fears, physical, financial or otherwise.  No shame or need to create an elaborate story to justify that you are different.  What would you like to be, do, see, experience.  What is the true essence of you?  What does that part of you want to say to you and to the world?

What I know is that your truth wants to shine through.

What I know is that you need to let it shine through and shine brightly.  Not only for your own spirit but for all the others around you.

We need the light and so do you.  You are the Light!  Let it Shine.

How does your light shine or how would you’d like to let it shine.  What would it do for you and for the world to let it shine?  What does shine mean to you?

Here’s to Love, Light and Shining!

Me and The Art of Allowing Fun!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to color your hair some crazy color just because it would be fun?  Or what it would be like to take a day off from work during the middle of the week to do what ever you wanted – shopping, taking a walk in nature, taking a drive in the country, dressing up like a clown, hanging out on Nicollet Mall handing out balloons or whatever would make you smile and feel oh so mischievous.  Have you ever had the urge to say something nice to someone – like “Hey, I really like your hand bag” – only to find yourself averting your eyes and trying not to make eye contact as you pass by.  Have you ever had the urge to eat a piece of chocolate cake for lunch or ice cream for dinner and ordered a salad instead!

Wouldn’t it be fun to just go ahead allow yourself those crazy little whimsies once in a while.  Seriously, what exactly is the harm in eating cake for lunch once in awhile.  Wouldn’t it feel great – while your friend is munching on carrots and you’re digging into the most luscious chocolate cake on earth – ohhhh I think that could really be fun.

Actually, I had that experience once, only I was the one eating the carrots as my friend, with a great big smile and pure bliss on her face, enjoyed that chocolate cake to the very last bite!  Now, who do you think I really wanted to be in that scenario?  Yes, I was silently wishing I had the guts to do ALLOW myself to eat CAKE for LUNCH!  “Can you believe, in your wildest dreams someone would actually do that” – I was saying to myself on one hand and on the other saying “yes, yes, yes – I wish it was me!”   For the record, no she doesn’t eat chocolate cake for lunch as a regular gig.  However, on this particular day that’s what she wanted and she went for it!  I say bravo to her.

My point in all of this:  you really can have your cake and eat it too – if you ALLOW yourself to.  Therein lays the art of allowing.

I proclaim the year 2010 to be the year of  ALLOWING.

  • Life to work in my favor
  • Myself to have chocolate cake if I want it.
  • Myself to color my hair just because it’s fun.
  • Smile and wave at people I don’t even know.
  • Actually saying those nice things I think in my head and while making eye contact!
  • Allowing my body to take care of me in the innate way it knows best – I’ll just get out of the way and allow it to do it’s job.
  • Allowing myself to have the life of my dreams.
  • To play, laugh and experience more
  • To dream more
  • To ENJOY life!

Onward with the life of ALLOWING – sounds like fun – don’t you think?  What are you allowing in your life?
