What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki meaning universal life force energy. Reiki’s ki-energies flow out of the practitioner’s body through the palms of the hands while they are touching the recipient’s body.

Reiki is:

  • a wonderful and ancient healing art used for stress reduction, relaxation
  • a light laying-on of hands while you lie, fully clothed, on a Massage table or sit in a chair
  • a wonderful compliment to and not a substitute for traditional medicine
  • now being offered in several hospitals throughout the United States as part of complimentary and integrative health care
  • useful for anyone in any state of health, including and not limited to: good health, pregnancy, cancer, and heart conditions.

Reiki does:

  • naturally boost the body’s innate ability to heal
  • address physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances, as well as any other form of “Dis-ease”
  • support and enhance any form of treatment, including traditional medicine

Reiki is not:

  • a type of massage
